Helpful Hints
Check out the Yellow Pages forum for the rules of the board. Feel free to ask any questions you might have there, as well, or make suggestions.
Curious about what sort of characters we need? We're currently in need of more Candidates (aren't we always?), brown, (male) blue, and green riders, workers for the Lower Caverns (particularly foster mothers), Crafters and Holderfolk, but as always, all characters are welcome!

THE SHRINE Where all may come to worship Caufar's very own Y'haw and Bessieth, in honor of this apparently Texan outlook the board has taken. WORSHIP, my Ranchlings, come and bask in their glory!
Weyr Bowl Generally the first place anyone sets foot at Caufar Weyr, whether they come through the Weyr tunnel on foot or are brought in a-dragonback. This is the Weyr's center; you can get to practically anywhere from here.
The Lake Caufar Weyr's lake encompases almost a third of the Weyr Bowl, dominating the southwestern corner of the Weyr. It's deep enough to accomodate the largest of dragons, and it's not often that you see it empty of draconian life forms.
Lower Caverns (2 sub-boards) The hub of Weyr life, the Lower Caverns are always bustling with activity. From the massive dining cavern where the Weyrfolk eat, to the equally large kitchens that provide massive quantities of food for the folk, right down to the storage rooms where Candidates spend a good portion of their times changing glowbaskets. You'll find it all right here.
Personal Quarters (2 sub-boards) Each of these small niches house the variety of peoples that make up the Weyrfolk. From drudges to dragonriders, everyone has a place, however small, that can be called their own.
The Skies (1 sub-board) The rustle of dragon wings fills the air. Whether it's feeding, flights, or rising to continue the never-ending battle against Thread, the skies of Pern are never empty of dragonkind.
Training Grounds The largest, flattest section of the weyr bowl is dedicated to the training grounds of the Candidates and Weyrlings. Here, various forms of exercise and labor keep the dragonriders-to-be in peak physical condition.
Candidate Barracks (1 sub-board) If you're a Candidate, you live here. The barracks has three main sections; the girls' barracks, the boys' barracks, and a common room that joins the two. Of course, boys are not permitted in the girls barracks, or vice versa, and with the Candidatemaster's office nearby, they can expect to be under watch at all times.
Weyrling Barracks (1 sub-board) There are two distinct differences between these barracks and the Candidate barracks. One; there is no division of barracks here. All Weyrlings live together, regardless of gender. Two; it's huge. The Weyrling barracks are designed to house up to one hundred Weyrlings and their dragons at any given time. Each cot has a wallow beside it, the largest of which are reserved for the gold and bronze hatchlings.
Hatching Sands Current clutch: Gold Sylfaeth X Bronze Neroth; 22 eggs; hatching due mid-February (NPC clutch)
The birthplace of the Weyr's future. The feet of countless Candidates have trod across these sands, but only a lucky few have left with a dragon by their side. Do you have what it takes to face the protective queen when her eggs are hatching, and to hopefully Impress one of her young?
Three Rivers Hold Lord: Restair Lady: Manadylle (Restair's second wife)
Crafts/Purpose: A primarily agricultural Hold, Three Rivers is responsible for the growth of much of the region's crops, due to a rich flood plain territory. Because of a wide crop diversity, Three Rivers is also home to an expansive, rather creative Vintnercrafthall that is best known for its stout ale. Beyond that, the Hold also has strong Craft links towards industrial Smithing (the production of irrigation pipes, plumbing and the like being the most noted).
Relationship with the Weyr: Very strong, the Hold won't begrude Candidates, and many a Three Rivers family can lay claim to a dragonrider relative. However, at times the Hold's closeness to the Weyr can be stifling, for Lord Restair hasn't yet learned that, as a Holder, he has no control over the inner workings of Caufar.
Crafts/Purpose: Strong Miningcraft presence, with a high production of firestone, blackrock, some metals, and fine gemstones. Also produces high-quality wool from its mountaineous ovines, and hardy, nimble-footed runners ideal for traversing rocky mountain paths.
Relationship with the Weyr: Neutral. Western Barrier doesn't often need protection from Threadfall, and since they provide the Weyr with its firestone, there is something of a Hold-wide sense of superiority over dragonriders, the sort of tolerance of a parent indulging their child.
Crest: An ice blue mountain on a stormy gray field
Crafts/Purpose: A SeaHold (and therefore a fishing hold) with a strong Healer presence due to the choppy seas, Darksea's primary craft is the attached Dolphincraft Hall. Primary export other than fish is well-crafted ships and other such vessels, with the local comestible delicacy being garum, which comes (mostly) from fish.
Relationship with the Weyr: Terrible. Darksea is one of the last to tithe, and does so completely begrudgingly. Riders on Search are not welcome here, and most of the Holderfolk maintain the same dislike for dragons and their riders that the main Hold does. In the past, riders were not allowed to Search from Darksea, and at this point the only time anyone really sees the riders is during 'fall.
Crest: Two red fish, crossed, on a black field. Moderator: Fi
